The Software Product Manager is responsible for the vision and profitability of a product line. Product Managers collaborate closely with various teams to make business decisions and develop product strategies that ensure the company’s long-term sustainability. In executing these strategies, Product Managers work with TechAbout departments to ensure corporate goals are met on time and within budget, while also addressing client and market needs.

The Product Manager works with the Technology, Sales, and Client Services teams to enhance existing products and develop new concepts based on industry research and customer needs. They possess a unique blend of business acumen and technical expertise, coupled with a big-picture vision and the drive to turn that vision into reality. By conducting market research, including fieldwork, the Product Manager gains insights into target audience needs and issues, identifying innovative solutions for existing and new market segments. They also stay current with industry trends and develop long-term plans for the success of the product line.

The Product Manager serves as the champion for the product and communicates with all areas of the company. They work with Business Analysts and Engineering teams to define product requirements and collaborate with Sales and Marketing Support to shape the go-to-market strategy. This includes helping the teams understand product positioning, key benefits, and target customers. Additionally, the Product Manager acts as the internal and external subject matter expert for product offerings, working closely with the sales channel and key clients. They are also responsible for ensuring the financial sustainability of the product, including the creation and maintenance of profit and loss documents.
